EPA Environmental Protection Agency of United States was established December 2, 1970 due to concerns about enviromental pollution. The role of the EPA is to make the environment safe and healthy for the the American people.William D. Ruckelshaus was the first EPA Agency Administrator. He developed the Agency's organization structure, took action against industrial polluters, and  set standards for air pollutants and car emissions.
